I started SBSM in September 2022 after spending 29 years with fibromyalgia, trying everything. My biggest fear was, what if this doesn’t work? I have nowhere else to go. I basically felt my life would be over if this didn’t work.
Now my pain is significantly less. On the odd day I do have pain, I can be with it. I don’t panic, I know it’ll pass. For the first time in my life, I can actually feel my body — my arms, my legs, my feet on the ground.
As I went through the exercises, I felt a lot of intense emotions I had buried all my life — fear, grief for the years I’d lost, and the pain of an abusive childhood. But I could be with it, and I knew it was part of healing.
I’m still a work in progress, but my life has changed. Please do this, invest in yourself.
Am I fixed? No. Am I healing? Yes. And it’s all thanks to Irene and SBSM.

Valérie
My name is Valérie. I’m 42 years old, from Belgium, and I live in the Italian Alps with my husband and three children.
I’ve had health issues and autoimmune diseases for 20 years, and it became clear I was in a constant state of feeling unsafe — my body always in survival, mainly freeze. Ten years ago I stopped going to doctors and therapists after spending thousands of euros with no real help, but trying to change my mindset alone didn’t bring me very far either.
When I started this work and did the neurosensory exercise of orienting, it was a big transformation shift. I could finally be and live in my body, instead of fleeing, rationalizing, or meditating to avoid feeling it because it hurt so much.
Orienting, from the first week of SBSM, is still a foundation for me — feeling how I’m positioned on this earth, in this body. There are so many other exercises that have helped me tremendously, and I’m very happy I found this. Thank you.

I had chronic fatigue, panic attacks, and so much anxiety. Irene’s courses gave me the depth of understanding I needed — I finally had a guideline and knew what was happening.
SBSM is so extensive and worth every penny. I’ve learned and healed SO much. Now I sleep well, my digestion is fine, I’m relaxed about food, my relationships are better, I can ask for and accept support. I’m not as stressed as I used to be.
Her education really was the foundation for my healing. Looking through the nervous system lens gave everything else I was doing so much more power.
If you’re on the edge wondering if it’s right for you — definitely go for it. You won’t regret it.

“I took a leap and joined the course and it was the best decision of my life. Before, I didn’t think I was going to make it — I was drowning, barely holding on. Now I feel reborn. For the first time, I could see the definition in the leaves on the trees and the blades of grass, and I just broke down crying.
I’ve tried everything under the sun and this is the only thing that not only worked, but changed my life.”

I went from barely being able to get out of bed for nearly 3 years due to burnout and shutdown, to — I’m about to graduate massage therapy school and NMT training in two weeks. I couldn’t have done it without your programs and the education and practices you’ve taught me.
I started SBSM in the fall of 2022, I believe it was round 12. I hung in there for the next 4 rounds. I sat out the last round while I focused on school AND because this work and education now lives in me! I cannot be more grateful to have met myself on this level, thanks to you.

If you ever wondered why you’re doing all the right things but things still aren’t shifting, it might be that you’re stuck in a stress response. This work on nervous system regulation is gold.
I started with some free resources and am now well on my way through the 21-Day course and the 12-week course (SBSM). They all build on each other with increasing depth in nervous system education and neurosensory exercises.
Nervous system regulation is foundational, a bit like breathing. You don’t breathe once and you’re done — it changes with your needs. Oxygen is non-negotiable for life, and I feel that a healthy response to stress is non-negotiable for quality of life.
Even though I haven’t finished the courses yet, their value is immense. I feel more space in my body now, more bendy and flexible, instead of bracing 100% of the time. This work is well-structured, grounded, and covers the full spectrum of stress and trauma physiology.
To a healthy and meaningful life. 🙏🏻🌱

I’ve been suffering from fibromyalgia and many other syndromes for well over 40 years, after being a very sick baby and child. I thank Irene and her entire team as I am on the path to healing — body, mind, and soul through the SBSM program. I’ve done two full rounds and over the summer I’ve been working on the 21 day tune up.
I too was very skeptical and took quite a while to sign up but I must say that it is well worth every single penny! And trust me it’s not a lot… Especially when you do things at your own pace, get to know your own system and learn how to regulate!
I’ve spent a lifetime in pain and now I’ve invested in a lifetime of being hopeful and seeing the most wonderful positive results!
I’m enjoying things I’ve never enjoyed before thanks to the power of orienting and noticing as well as being curious about everything in my surroundings as well as within my body. I can’t thank Irene and her entire team enough for this new lease on life! You can do this program as often as you like and take as much time as you need… That’s why people repeat it over and over again. The repetition is what makes it sink in and you always find new layers upon new layers upon new layers to delve into!
Thank you thank you thank you… And please remember that we don’t get paid for these comments… They’re sincere and purely from the heart. Wishing you all blessings upon blessings and especially that of health and happiness!

I wasn’t even aware of how ‘bad’ my thinking towards myself was until I woke up one day and had noticed that it had changed from mean self talk to being more creative and having lots of ideas. My thinking has shifted drastically since I have done Irene’s work without ‘working’ on my cognitive. SBSM is just one of those programs that has tremendously changed my life for the better in so many ways. Thank you Irene for putting this work out there. It is so needed 🙏

I can highly recommend SBSM, I did it last year and have gained hugely in my understanding of trauma and how to heal. The understanding that so called minor traumas can still have huge impact on the body was an eye opener, as I always felt my traumas were not anything compared to others, so why did I feel so rotten! Irene’s amazing work and understanding gave me so many insights into my own trauma and what I could do to heal. As she says it’s not a quick fix, but step by step it’s doable.
So many aspects of my life have improved. I am at last feeling like I’m home, grounded, happy and free.
I’m 70 and not new to healing work. Irene’s course helped me understand at a much deeper level what’s going on in the body. Irene’s warm, loving, approach provided a safe place to undo a lot of the shame and guilt I was feeling around myself with low self worth and ADHD. I love that I have the course to go back to whenever I need a refresher, it’s like someone is holding my hand if I get a bit wobbly! Thank you Irene, Seth and your team!

Most impactful work I’ve ever done for myself, and it almost feels so natural, exercises almost so simple. As others always said, I look forward to uncovering more layers, healing anxiety and freeing up more of my innate energy…

SBSM was the best thing I ever bought. I can see now how trends dictate what healing programs exist, but Irene comes from the original source material. Everyone else (myself lincluded) is just guessing at what somatic work means. The nervous system is really hard to understand at first because it’s a language we were trained out of. I am on week 8 of SBSM and just now starting to get a handle on it.
