The purpose of this work is to first educate you on what is happening in your system, so you can understand it and have a more conscious, and less reactive, relationship with your internal experiences. And, the work itself is meant to guide you into your system in different ways such that the old, stuck, junk in the system can start moving out, and when that happens, it usually doesn’t feel ‘good’ in the way that we normally define that word!
Granted you are not sleep deprived, if you are feeling tired or even exhausted after watching one of the educational videos or doing an exercise, that probably means that your system just did some hard work – which can definitely happen just from taking in the theory. Or, if you consistently fall asleep during the neurosensory practices, that may mean that they are actually a bit too mush for your system to process. If these things happen consistently then it probably means that you need to go a bit more slowly, and do less when you watch or engage with the lessons. This could mean only doing the lesson until the first wave of tiredness starts to overtake you, then STOP, leave it, and come back again another day.
Same thing if you’re feeling activated.
One more important thing to consider on the ‘feeling sleepy’ side of things – it may be that your system is deeply exhausted even if you don’t feel sleep deprived, and that Irene’s calm, regulated voice is lulling you to sleep because your system deeply needs rest, particularly while in connection with a regulated human. If this is the case then getting that rest and connection is probably a good thing, so you could just go with it. If this doesn’t change over time though, evn though you are getting lots of rest, it’s more likely that the lessons are actually overstimulating and the first approach described above would be best.
