There’s that old saying, “the devil is in the details,” and that applies here, metaphorically speaking. It is by moving our head with slowness and curiosity that we find the places where we are holding unresolved trauma. This may express as tension or soreness, or a tendency to rush past certain areas such that our movement is jerky. Slowing down and really paying attention to our internal response to what’s around us, and where it’s easy to move our head, and where it isn’t, can let us find a lot of sensations and emotions that we didn’t know were there.
