The nervous system work and all you teach goes much deeper and helps and heals things that silencing the mind and also mindfulness activities such as crafts can’t. I didn’t start to heal until I started SBSM. I still wonder that being in my usual silenced mind zone is another form of the freeze response. While meditation helped me become a more calmer person on the outside; it did not stop my immobility response being triggered at the drop of a hat.
What I learned and incorporated into my life via SBSM did. My background is facilitating craft groups in mental health charities which also included voice hearers. While I could see the positive effects of being mindful in the moment, rather it gave a respite moment which had a temporary effect as it just doesn’t go deep enough. Meditation and mindfulness is more a resource I feel to get one through but it doesn’t heal. I have experienced what does and does not heal nervous system dysregulation first hand.
Thank you as always for what you do!
