Over the past three months, Irene Lyon’s SBSM nervous system work has quite literally reshaped the way I inhabit my body, lead my work, and move through the world. As a movement educator and facilitator myself, I came into Irene’s programs with both curiosity and discernment. What I discovered was a depth of nervous system education and regulation practice that filled in the missing pieces I didn’t know I was still reaching for. Through her work, I’ve learned how to actually slow down — not just conceptually, but biologically. I’ve uncovered and unlayered patterns of survival that were silently running the show underneath my otherwise resourced life. I have befriended my anxiety in a whole new way. I’ve felt long-held tension begin to unravel, my sleep deepen, my creativity BOOM, and my relationship with my spine — the centre of my own modality — transform on a cellular level. Irene’s teaching is clear, rigorous, and compassionate. She brings a rare mix of clinical knowledge and intuitive wisdom, and the container she holds is solid, safe, and generous. This work is not a trend. It is not a quick fix. It is foundational. It’s a lifestyle as Irene says. If you’re seeking real, embodied healing — not the performative kind — Irene’s work is where I’d begin.
